Introduction

The Lauder Business School was founded in 2003 as a University of Applied Sciences in Vienna with the aim of offering young people from East and West common educational possibilities in Central Europe. It offers, with its provision for economic programs of studies, an intercultural teaching focus in all qualitative, subject-related and operative processes in order to meet the current  and future economic, social and individual demands of graduates.

Because of the nature and the structure of Lauder Business School, there is a particular profile of the institution:

- The location of Vienna, today, as in the past, a bridge between East and West, was consciously chosen to tie western and eastern traditions together.

- Support for students from a Jewish background and culture (taking into consideration religious holidays, traditions and dietary requirements)

- A high proportion of international students (on average over 80%)

Specialist orientation:

The Lauder Business School sees itself as a teaching and research institution in the area of Economics and Management.  Within that, its focus is to develop, and build up expertise around, the core competency of “Diversity Management”.

In addition to the transfer of knowledge, applied research lies at the core of our activities, in particular in its implementation in the teaching and the operative processes of the institution

We work:

- with specific curricula, which actively promote a better understanding  of culturally related issues of diversity.

- with a focus on “Student-centered learning”

- in an intercultural and international milieu, in which heterogeneous  groups of students are prepared by means of high-level academic training for future  professional success in business and management.

- with a constructive relationship to diversity and gender challenges´

- with committed teaching staff who possess both academic qualifications and professional expertise

- with a process-orientated Quality Management system

- with world-wide contacts in the world of business in order to improve the future prospects and career opportunities of our students
