Students beginning their undergraduate studies in the International Business Administration program this upcoming Spring Term may choose to pursue the German “fast track”. Starting the language from scratch, “regular track” students will attain the A2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), while the learning objective of the “fast track” after 5 semesters is the attainment of the B1 level. The B1 level will be assessed by the ÖSD exam (Österreichisches Sprachdiplom) at the end of the 5th semester. Exam costs are covered by LBS.

During semesters 1–4 the students participate in an additional 2.5 German teaching units (2 hours) per week at the IntegrationCenter Taborstraße (Chabad House). This corresponds to a total of 30 additional teaching units per semester! During the 5th semester, LBS and the Integration Center Taborstraße offer 20 additional teaching units.

We are confident that these measures will considerably increase the integration prospects of international LBS students into the Austrian labor market and Austrian society.

Researching Real Estate Economics

Christian Reiner, senior researcher at LBS, has published a peer-reviewed article with the title “Concordance of office market cycles? Dynamics in European metropolises in the context of the financial and economic crisis”. The paper is joint work together with Robert Musil from the Austrian Academy of Sciences. It is published in the well-established, peer-reviewed German journal “Zeitschrift für Wirtschaftsgeographie”. The topic of the paper is strongly related to the LBS study program Strategic Finance & Business Analytics.
